MACLE Donates Educational Supplies to Anwiam Nkwanta A.M.E Basic School to Combat Child Labour

In a significant step toward improving education and child welfare, the organization Mothers Against Child Labour and Exploitation (MACLE), through its Happy Children Project (HCP), has donated essential educational materials and supplies to Anwiam Nkwanta A.M.E Basic School.
The event, held on March 28, 2025, was attended by key stakeholders including Mr. Phillis Kwame Badu (Chairman of MACLE), Executive Director Prosper Rackson, volunteers, local chiefs, teachers, pupils, and community members.
In his opening remarks, Executive Director Prosper Rackson underscored the urgent need to eradicate child labour and emphasized the role of education in shaping responsible citizens. “The fight against child exploitation begins with education,” he stated, urging parents to invest in the growth and potential of their children.
Chairman Mr. Badu reinforced this message, highlighting the long-term impact of such interventions on academic performance and community development. He called on all stakeholders to actively participate in nurturing the educational journey of children.

The donations included:
Exercise books, pencils, and sharpeners in quantities exceeding the pupil population.
Brand-new school uniforms and shoes for all students.
Food supplies including rice, cooking oil, tomato paste, and sardines to support a school feeding programme.
Visual documentation captured the transformation — from children arriving in worn clothing to smiling faces clad in new uniforms, proudly holding their new supplies.
The project was hailed as a resounding success by attendees and organizers alike. MACLE expressed gratitude to all contributors and volunteers, reaffirming its commitment to building a brighter, child-labour-free future.
