Smiles, Shoes, and a Fresh Start: MACLE Brings Hope to Anwiam Nkwanta A.M.E Basic School

It was a day of joy and new beginnings at Anwiam Nkwanta A.M.E Basic School as pupils, teachers, and families came together for something truly special — the launch of the Happy Children Project by Mothers Against Child Labour and Exploitation (MACLE).
On March 28, 2025, the school compound buzzed with excitement. The sounds of laughter and cheers filled the air as children received brand-new uniforms, shiny new shoes, stacks of exercise books, and nutritious food items — all part of MACLE’s heartfelt donation to uplift the school and fight child labour in the community.

Executive Director Prosper Rackson kicked things off with a powerful message about the importance of education and community support in ending child labour. “Every child deserves the chance to learn in dignity,” he said, encouraging parents to stay actively involved in their children’s growth.
Chairman Phillis Kwame Badu followed up with moving words about how far the organization has come and how much impact these seemingly simple items can have on a child’s future. “This is more than a donation. This is hope,” he told the crowd.
What was donated?
School supplies for every child — more than enough!
Uniforms and shoes to replace the tattered ones students had worn for too long.
Food items to begin a school feeding initiative — because full bellies mean focused minds.
The before-and-after was incredible. From shy children in faded clothes to proud students in crisp uniforms, the change was visible and moving. Teachers and parents alike expressed gratitude, noting the boost in morale among the pupils.
This event wasn’t just about materials — it was about sending a message: Our children matter. Their future matters.
MACLE thanked everyone who supported the project, from donors to volunteers. The community left inspired and hopeful — ready to keep the momentum going.
