Mothers Against Child Labour and Exploitation (MACLE) is a non-profit organization established in Ghana to support vulnerable children and their families. Registered as a company limited by guarantee in October 2022. MACLE aims to provide a collaborative and coordinated response to protect and promote the rights of children as enshrined in the Children's Act, Ghana and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child treaty. The organization works with local authorities, social welfare departments, and civil society organizations to create safe and supportive environments for children and women, including those affected by HIV/AIDS, and provide counseling and psychosocial support to improve their well-being, growth, and development.

Our Mission

To support the ambition of the Ghana Government in building and improving the welfare of children, especially children in child labour and at risk of being in child labour, child trafficking, and the marginalised, in the quest to creating child labour free zone.

Our Vision

The organisation envisages a just and democratic society, where children, women and the youth will have a voice and their potentials are honed to achieve sustainable livelihood and be socially responsible.

According to the ILO and the Children’s Act of Ghana, Child Labour refers to work that deprives children (any person under 18) of their childhood, their potential and their dignity, and that is harmful to their physical and/or mental development.
